How Suite It Is!
True to
its claim of exceeding guest’s expectations, Discovery Suites
has yet again built another gem of a place.

For
many of Tagaytay’s habitués, word is abuzz about a new idyllic
hideaway that typifies the changing face of this cool mountain
resort. Perched along the famous ridge overlooking the
picturesque Taal Lake is a seven-suite bed and breakfast place
that offers premium accommodations which can even rival the
best of what the metropolis can offer.
Welcome to the Discovery Country Suites Tagaytay.
Indeed, from the outside, you wouldn’t suspect that the place
holds seven individually-themed rooms and three-level dining
areas. If not for the cars parked in front you would think
that it was just one of those neo-country homes that have
mushroomed in that part of the
city.
As you enter the property, you are greeted by a dining area
that extends out to the balcony allowing you to soak in the
breathtaking view. A colonial sofa fronting the fireplace is
an instant invitation for guests who would like to either read
a good book or to sip cocktails while striking a friendly
conversation with fellow guests.
Although we were given a tour of the entire facility, three of
the seven guestrooms stuck to mind – the Oxford room, the
Andalucia room and the Nara room. I’m not sure if it was
intentional but the varying motifs surely add an element of
fantasy for the guests. For a night, one can feel (or sleep)
like an English royalty, a Spanish Don or a Japanese Sensei.
In my case, I felt like a pampered Don Quijote who had one of
his best sleeps ever what with a complete goose down feather
pillow and comforter set atop a double pillow top mattress
covered with fine linen of the highest thread count.
And what makes staying at Discovery Country Suites a real
treat? It is the personalized service each guest s accorded –
something that big hotels cannot hope to achieve.
There are more pleasant offerings that await guests who wish
to troop to this latest toast of the town but we leave it up
to them to discover. One thing sure though is that they will
come away refreshed, recharged and ready to face the
challenges in their return to the urban
jungle.
